Durham Storytellers are a dedicated group of avid storytellers, who love to continue the oral tradition of the spoken language.

Some storytellers learn stories from existing sources, and some write their own stories to tell. Many are strictly storytellers, and some are storyteller-musicians.

We tell traditional stories, such as legends, folktales, myths, and fairy tales. We also relay personal stories, inspirational pieces, family stories, historical accounts, song and music, anecdotes, poetry, and other recitations...without books or notes.
