Poetry is Magic: A poetry and tarot workshop

  • 257 Danforth Avenue Toronto, ON, M4K 1N2 Canada (map)

Inner Arts Collective - 257 Danforth Avenue

Poetry is Magic is a writing workshop taught by Liz Worth. This class uses ancestral energies, tarot, meditation, and ritual as creative prompts.

The All Soul’s edition of Poetry is Magic comes just days after Halloween, or Samhain, and All Soul’s Day.

These dates are significant as it is believed this is when the veils between worlds are their thinnest. It is said to be a time when spirits are said to walk among us. It is said to be a time when our ancestors are near, waiting for us to remember and honour them.

The energy at this time of year gives us so much to work with, creatively. If you want to tap into some fresh ideas and get a new poem or two off the ground, this workshop is the place for you.

No previous experience with tarot is necessary. Poets of all levels all welcome, from emerging to established.

If you have a tarot deck you’d like to bring, please do. Don’t worry if you don’t have one. There will be decks to share.

What to bring:

  • Writing materials
  • An item that represents your ancestors or lineage (or something that reminds you of them)
  • Tarot cards (optional)

Pre-registration is required and spaces are limited. Sign up at
