The Garment Factory Lofts, unit 415
When we three East Enders stumbled into each other at the 2018 Wayzgoose, we began a dialogue about the imbalance between the number of literary events in the west end and those in the east end of Toronto. So we decided to take action, inaugurating a salon style reading series that would occur in the heart of Leslieville and take place up to six times a year. Our aim is to foster inclusion and build community. The venue is accessible and can be easily reached by transit. Events are PWYC.
In our first salon, we are delighted to host Anar Ali and Natalee Caple, both writers near to our hearts and with brand new books this year.
Anar Ali
Anar Ali’s first book, Baby Khaki's Wings, a collection of short stories, was a finalist for the Commonwealth Writer's Prize, Ontario’s Trillium Book Award, and the Danuta Gleed Literary Award. Night of Power is her debut novel.
Natalee Caple
Natalee Caple is the author of nine books of poetry and fiction. Her latest book of poetry, Love in the Chthulucene (Cthulhucene) was released by Wolsak and Wynn.
We hope you can make it!
Cheers,
