The Drake Hotel

It's the final regular season slam of the season, before our Semifinals, and if you're a poet vying for the Semis, and you've only slammed twice, you'll want to compete in this show!

We're excited to feature the 2019 TPS Team at this very special show! The team is comprised of what makes Toronto so unique: vibrancy and voice. An amalgamation of new and established artists, this years team consists of AG, Gavin, Michael McNeil and Nells. A wonderful mix of identity, humour, politics, and humanity await any audience who witnesses them perform.

As always, doors at 7 signup for slam/open mic 730 and show at 8 $7 cover. All ages. Tix only available at the door.

We get packed so highly recommend arriving for 7pm.

ACCESSIBILITY:

The Drake Hotel has a single step from the front door off Queen St. W leading into the lobby. There are two separate sections of staircase separated by a large landing, 19 steps in total, from the lobby down the Drake Underground and into the main bar. A small set of stairs with railings lead from the bar level to our general seating area (chairs are provided but they often fill up by 8 p.m.) The Underground's bathrooms are located just outside the main doors. A wheelchair-accessible, gender neutral washroom is located on the ground floor in the lobby.

The Beaconsfield Avenue side entrance (located at the west side of the building) has no barriers, however a button has to be pushed in order to operate the door.
