WHAT IS A POETRY SLAM? A poetry slam is a competition in which poets perform spoken word poetry. The performances at a poetry slam are judged by a panel of judges, usually selected from the audience.
INTERESTED IN COMPETING? There will be 12 slots open for competing poets, all you need to do is prepare 2 poems and fill out the entry form prior to the event: https://goo.gl/forms/Y3KFnccSm889Zhgr2
Note: not all poems during the poetry slam portion need to be centered around black history/experience, but we encourage and are prioritizing black stories and black-identifying persons to slam. Open mic is open to all.
