Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square

Join us for our Authors on Art series with acclaimed writer Lynn Crosbie, held alongside our winter exhibition, The Mime, the Model and the Dupe, a survey of the work of Montreal-based artist Valérie Blass. A poet, novelist and cultural critic, Crosbie will deliver a talk that explores the protean, idiosyncratic sculptures of Blass’ recent history.

Authors on Art is presented in partnership with the Oakville Public Library.

Biography Lynn Crosbie is a Ph.D and writer, whose latest novel is Chicken (2018). Previous books include the novels Life Is About Losing Everything (2012) and the Trillium Book Award finalist Where Did You Sleep Last Night? (2015), as well as volumes of poetry and prose such as Queen Rat (1998), Dorothy L’Amour (1999) and Liar (2006). She has won a number of National Magazine Awards for her work as a journalist. She has also worked at OCAD and the AGO, and lectured at various galleries. A former art student, she now devotes her time to photographing Toronto's west end neighbourhood of Parkdale, and to writing Young Adult novels that are likely too louche for young adults.
