 According to Kate Hawkins, drawings are alive, and sometimes the characters in them find their voice. Kate was fortunate enough to overhear and record a few comments from the figures in her drawing Addio Michelangelo. She will be reading four short poems that resulted from her eavesdropping.

Kate Marshall Flaherty will read her poems to the wonderful music and movement collaboration of dancer Meiko Ando and cellist Kye Marshall. Three poems will be explored: “Ode to my Breath” will encompass the inspiration and exhalation of breath in music, word and dance; “Poplar Grove” will take the audience on a journey back to roots, the past, first love and our hidden inter-connections with trees; “Moon Bird” will play with shape, sound, and sensation in art responding to art.

Bianca Lakoseljac will read excerpts from her two novels, Stone Woman and Summer of the Dancing Bear. A published author of four books, Bianca is currently working on another novel set in Toronto.
