Good news about this month's Poetry&Prose open mic event.
We'll have an author in town from Ottawa that weekend, and he's agreed to be in my guest reader slot. I "met" Ian Prattis on Facebook, and he writes prose and poetry on a variety of subjects. Ian is a retired professor who works hard for peace and justice. He is a Zen teacher and environmentalist.
As well as being the feature speaker, he has a SPECIAL OFFER! Buy his new book, Painting with Words: Poetry for a New Era for $20, and choose any one of his previous books or CDs for free. A 2-for-1 offer. His other books include environmental; a trilogy of sci-fi; Buddhism; and other topics. I can't wait to meet him in person! Check out his site:
As always, we'll start with open mic for 3 minutes per person, so come early to sign up, grab your coffee and choose your seat. If you're new, come and meet new friends, we're a welcoming bunch. Taste of Colombia cafe also has delicious lunch items - check out their soups and salads.
Note: Do not park in the large parking lot at the back. You could be towed. Instead, park in the smaller lot directly behind the cafe, or else on the street.
