TPS is back with another high-energy spoken word battle concert! This time, we're featuring the incredibly talented poet IFRAH HUSSEIN from Toronto!

Ifrah Hussein is a Somali-Canadian award-winning poet and author of "An Anthology of Grief or the ways a Somali Woman Loves". Ifrah has recently been nominated for an Artist of the Year award and is also the 2017 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Champion, making her the first woman to have won the national title. Ifrah has ranked in the top 5 of 96 poets at the 2017 Women of the World Poetry Slam in Texas, also making her the only Canadian to compete on finals stage in its 10-year history. Ifrah was also among the top 4 countries at the Poetry World Cup in Paris, France and has since taken her poetry to a number of countries.

Accessibility info: The Drake Hotel has 1 step at the front door on Queen St. W. There are no steps and a button to open the door on Beaconsfield (west side of the building). To get from the lobby to the Underground, there are 19 steps to the doors/bar level, then 4 steps leading from the bar area to where the chairs are setup. Bathrooms are back on the same level as the bar in the Underground. A wheelchair accessible, gender neutral washroom is on the main lobby level.
