The Drake Hotel

Know how we showcase a single poet at most slams, in the guest-feature spot? This time, we got a FULL TEAM for the Aug 11 team and it's the incredible BAM! Toronto Youth Poetry Slam Team!

BAM! Toronto Youth Poetry Slam is a platform and community that consists of some of the top youth spoken word poets in Toronto and the GTA. With varying storytelling styles and powerful narratives, these individual voices create a unparalleled poetic chorus of truth, struggle and healing when they hit the stage. You can catch the 2019 team (Akil Elijah, Fey Sky, Michelle Lin, Marvel and Lin Lune) on multiple venues across the city, facilitating mentorship programs or preparing for their annual trips to different international poetry conferences. Find out more here:

Hosted by Patrick de Belen

As always, doors 7 signup 730 and show at 8pm $7 cover. All ages. If you want to rock the open mic, remember you can do poetry, comedy, prose, music, dance, anything!
