MWC Toronto Open Mic: The Apology

Majlis Art Garden

This MWC is inspired by the Apology Project and Carly Rae Jepsen's song, "Right Words Wrong Time." We're asking you to write, sing, joke and rap about experiences with apologies or the lack thereof. We want your best and your worst. The cringiest and the heart expanding. What have been some of the right words for you? Does time heal all wounds? And does love really mean never having to say you're sorry? We'll bring the tissues, you bring the laughter. Let's get ready to apologize!

About the Apology Project:

The Apology Project is a collaboration between the Tessellate Institute and Arij Elmi, social worker/psychotherapist and PhD candidate at OISE. The study is examining the use of an emotion focused family therapy mechanism called the apology with young Muslim women. interviews involve writing a letter from the perspective of a parent/parental figure who has emotionally injured you. Interested participants will have segments of their interview featured in a 4-episode podcast series.
