The Oakville Literary Cafe

  • 1086 Burnhamthorpe Road East Oakville, ON, L6H 7B2 Canada (map)

Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre

I am delighted to be hosting two amazing features: Canadian Poet Laurence Hutchman and Tamil Canadian author Logathasan Tharmaturai.

Laurence will be reading from his new collection of poetry "The House of Shifting Time" published by Black Moss Press. Logathasan will be reading from his new novel "The Sadness of Geography" published by Dundurn Press.

I am inviting you to join us for an hour of open mic. If you would like me to reserve a spot for you, please message me, otherwise, it's first come, first serve.

Each open mic reader has time for two or three short poems or one page of prose. Due to increasing costs incurred by the venue, we are charging $5.00 per person. This covers participation in the event, as well as free parking and refreshments. You are encouraged also to bring your publications for sale at our book table. The Oakville Literary Cafe is a great event to listen to some of Canada's best literature, as well as to showcase your own work; to network with like-minded writers and to hone your literary skills. I look forward to seeing everyone in the fall and to continue hosting our amazing poets and authors. Enjoy the rest of your summer! See you all on Sunday, September 29, from 4 to 6 pm, at Joshua Creek Art Centre in Oakville.
