Spring has sprung! Join us for more exceptional emerging writers this ANIMATED APRIL. Doors open at 6:30p and readings begin at 7:00p. Our fantastic lineup this month includes:

HAJERA KHAJA Hajera Khaja’s fiction has been published in Joyland Magazine, and her writing has also appeared in The National Post. She is an editor at Ruqaya’s Bookshelf, a publisher of children’s books with Muslim protagonists.

NIKKI DONADIO Nikki Donadio is a graduate of the Humber School for Writers and holds an MA in Creative Writing. Her work has appeared in Yes Poetry, Jellyfish Review, Gertrude, Plenitude, Vessel Press, and others. You can follow her on Twitter @nikki_donadio.

LEANNE TOSHIKO SIMPSON Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Leanne Toshiko Simpson writes about navigating Scarborough’s mental health system. She is an MFA candidate at Guelph and teaches creative writing at CAMH and InkWell Workshops.

ARCHANA SRIDHAR Archana Sridhar is a poet and university administrator living in Toronto. A graduate of Bard College, Harvard Law School and a former Fulbright Scholar, Archana focuses on themes of meditation, race, motherhood, and trauma in her poetry. Her work has been featured in The Brown Orient, The Puritan, Foliate Oak Literary Journal, The /tƐmz/ Review, and elsewhere.

BECKY BLAKE Becky Blake is a two-time winner of the CBC Literary Prize. Her debut novel, Proof I Was Here, is forthcoming from Wolsak & Wynn in May 2019.
